Pre- and Post-Operation Rehabilitation

Whether you’re getting ready for surgery or already in recovery mode, your body needs the right kind of support — at the right time. At Athletic Edge Physical Therapy, we specialize in helping active adults, athletes, and weekend warriors navigate the process from surgery to full recovery with a plan that actually makes sense. We’ve been doing this for years. Our team got its start in orthopedic settings, working with a wide range of post-op patients — from ACL reconstructions to rotator cuff repairs to spinal procedures. And while the surgeries vary, the goal is the same: to help you heal better, faster, and more confidently.

Personalized rehab to help you recover right — and get back to doing what you love

What’s the difference between pre-op and post-op rehab?

Pre-operative physical therapy (prehab) focuses on getting you stronger and more mobile before surgery. It can help reduce swelling, improve joint function, and even lead to better surgical outcomes and shorter recovery times.

Post-operative rehab, on the other hand, is all about guiding your recovery after surgery — safely restoring movement, rebuilding strength, and gradually returning you to your normal routine, sport, or lifestyle.

At AEPT, we do both. And we do it in a way that’s personalized, not just protocol-based.

Common surgeries we treat

We work with patients recovering from a variety of procedures, including:

  • ACL reconstruction

  • Meniscus repair or removal

  • Rotator cuff and labral repairs

  • Lumbar spine surgeries (laminectomy, discectomy, etc.)

  • Ankle and foot surgeries

  • Elbow and biceps tendon repairs

Not sure if your surgery fits into that list? Reach out — we’ll walk you through what rehab might look like for your case.
